Its waddling gait, with a tottering walk, makes it look like a little fuzzball. Little Sunshine loves to roll on the wool-felted grass and hug every ray of sunshine with its wings.
One day, Little Sunshine found a magical piece of wool and decided to use it to make a mini version of itself—a needle felting duck doll. Little Sunshine used yellow wool for the doll’s hat and body, orange wool for the little feet, and white wool for the wings. It hung the doll next to its own little nest, and every time friends visited, it would show them this adorable doll.

The basic steps to make a needle-felt duck are as follows, suitable for beginners:
1. Prepare materials
Wool felt (mainly yellow, orange for beak and feet, black for eyes)
Needle felting needle
Sponge pad or special felt pad
2. Make the duck body
Take an appropriate amount of wool and roll it into an oval or “croissant” shape.
Use the needle felting needle to repeatedly pierce and shape it into the duck’s body. Pay attention to piercing at multiple angles to keep it round.
3. Make the duck’s head and neck
Take the wool and roll it into a small ball to make the head.
Take another piece of wool and roll it into a long and thin strip to make the neck, leaving one end fluffy for easy connection.
Use the needle felting needle to connect the head and neck together, then connect to the body, and cover the seam with a small amount of wool to continue to solidify.
4. Make the duck’s mouth
Take orange wool and tie it into two triangles (upper and lower mouths), one large and one small, leaving a fluffy part for connection.
Stack the upper and lower mouths together, connect them along the edges with a needle felting needle, and then fix the mouth to the head.
5. Make the legs and feet
Use a pipe cleaner or wire as a support and wrap the orange wool around it to firmly form the legs and webs.
Fix the legs to the bottom of the body.
6. Make the wings
Take the yellow wool and tie two wings of the same shape, leaving one side fluffy for easy connection.
Fix the wings symmetrically on both sides of the body.
7. Add details
Tie two dots of black wool as eyes and fix them in the right position on the head.
Check the overall shape and add a little wool to make sure the surface is smooth and the structure is strong.

Be careful when felting the wool to avoid pricking your fingers.
